Ward Williams, PLLC is the newly created law firm that merged the two successful law offices of MeLisa J. Williams and Jeff Ward of the Ward Law Firm. In order to best serve their clients in west Tennessee, the firm will maintain offices in Fayette County in Somerville and their South Tipton County office in Munford. Attorneys in the firm are admitted to practice in all courts in Tennessee including the Tennessee Supreme Court and the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
The firm is currently involved in a number of high profile cases including suing a municipality for corruption and retaliation and an election contest. At present, the firm is representing clients in a number of states encompassing issues from a suit against a multi-million dollar communications company to recently successfully mediating a wrongful death claim in the state of Washington.
Attorney MeLisa Williams is an honors graduate of the Baptist School of Nursing, the University of Tennessee and the Nashville School of Law. Before Ms. Williams began her legal career, she was and is currently a Registered Nurse. Ms. Williams’ areas of practice include Juvenile, Family and Domestic Law, Bankruptcy, Medical Malpractice, Real Estate and Civil Litigation. Ms. Williams was formerly employed as an attorney for the State of Tennessee as a Hearing Officer and was an associate attorney with Minor, Johnston & Douglas, PC.
Attorney Jeff Ward is an honors graduate from the University of Memphis and the Mississippi College School of Law. Mr. Ward worked in law enforcement and security for more than a decade before beginning his legal career, most notably at the Millington Police Department and Rhodes College Department of Public Safety. Mr. Ward is an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis where he has taught Constitutional Law, Evidence and Law and Society. Mr. Ward’s areas of practice include Business Law, Real Estate, Personal Injury and Civil Litigation, Bankruptcy, Social Security Disability, Election Law, and Civil Rights. In 2008, Mr. Ward represented two winning campaigns for the Tennessee General Assembly for the State Senate and the State House.
